Local Holiday Shopping
Below is a letter from Georgianna Grant as it appeared in The Gazette this past Thursday:
Many of us would love nothing better than to shop locally. The choices, however, seem to be pretty slim.
It would be helpful if the village would post a list of local businesses and examples of products they carry that might make exciting gifts for men, women and children.
Are there more places to shop than the obvious ones? if so, add to the list?
Groovy on Grand – Grand Street; Trinkets Jewelry – Old Post Road South in the Upper Village; Rutheny’s Jewelry – Brook Street; Feed the Birds – Harmon, The Green Growler – Harmon
Gift certificates to The Tavern, Ocean House, Umami, JustinThyme, Black Cow….
We’d like to add a gift certificate to Memphis Mae’s!
What would YOU add to the list?
AND DON’T FORGET TO CHECK OUT LOCAL ARTISANS AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING TOMORROW FROM 11-4!
Cater your party at a local deli!
That’s a great suggestion–La Monica’s and A&S have outstanding savories, Villa D’Oro and Giovanni’s for sweets! We are blessed to have a great variety of restaurants–it’s not just pizza anymore. You could eat a different cuisine every night, so gift certificates for all our eateries would make great stocking stuffers. I’m hoping for the better half and I to make it over to Sala soon.
And how could I forget wonderful, happy go lucky Grouchy Gabe? And the really beautiful Hilltop Farms … They have the most unique and unusual gifts – the kind you – to say nothing about their poinsettias
