More September Arts Happenings

August 27, 2017

Saturday, September 2, 2017 (Rain dates: September 3 or 4)

Something is happening in Field iii at Saunders Farm, 853 Old Albany Post Road, Garrison:  Collaborative Concepts (the link has a map of the farm to show Field iii – maps will be available on site) is presenting performance art on the farm:

“In Times Like These”

Curated by Marcy B. Freedman, the playlist is “Wish Sisters at the Wishing Well” by Day de Dada Performance Art Collective (2:30 – 5 pm); “Job” by Carla Rae Johnson (2 to 3:15 pm); “Wolves in the Trees” by Mary McFerran (2:30 to 3:30 pm); “Anatta” by Alexandra Neuman (2:30 to 5:30 pm); “Self Migrant Soul Mileage” by Nathalie Reynoso (2:30 – 5 pm); “So This is Paradise” by SHSHI (2:30 to 5 pm).  Obviously, audience members can wander from one art performance to another as they like, itself an unusual Concept, but definitely Collaborative.  For further info email or call 914-271-5891.

Sunday, September 10

Keith Gordon, a CCoA member, and potter, wants to pass on an invitation to visit Ossining’s new Cedar Lane Arts Center on September 10, 2017, from 9 am to 4 pm for a public demonstration of the firing of Raku pottery by local artists (Cathy Carabee Faiella and Keith Gordon).

Cedar Lane Arts Center, located in Henry Gourdine Park in Ossining, will also offer hands-on classes in the arts, including various clay-related experiences with Keith Gordon and others, as well as making origami and sushi, both under the skilled guidance of CCoA member Yoshimi Arai. Click here for the “Fall 2017 Class Schedule.”  Click here for a flyer for the Cedar Lane Arts Center which includes directions and contact information (it could take a minute or so to load, depending on your computer speed, but it is not a very long flyer).

NB – If you happen to be in the Black Cow in Croton, look under the glass counter top where you order to help sate your thirst for the arts.  Generally, you can find some flyers there for events in the area which we didn’t get to include in an email newsletter to you.  Thought you might like to know this.
