(Open to Public  –  Not Televised)

  1.  Engineer Update on Water Projects:

Water Model

            Wolf and Cook Infrastructure Improvements

            Harmon Infrastructure Improvements

            Well Refurbishment

Village Engineer, Dan O’Connor, will review progress on the four major water infrastructure projects currently under way. The Village-wide computer water model has been under development for over a year.  It provides detailed information about all aspects of  the distribution system including pipe sizes, mapping of lines, capacities, etc.  It helps identify areas where improvement would benefit water distribution.  The Wolf and Cook and Harmon water improvements are under way with the survey work completed and design being worked on by two engineering firms.  Completion of the design work will set the stage for bidding the work to replace water lines in these two areas.  Both areas are expected to be underway in the coming year.  Well refurbishment is maintenance on the wells that maximizes their pumping potential.  Each well will be offline while undergoing this maintenance.

  1. Croton Harmon Parking Facility – Traffic, Bicycle and Pedestrian Enhancements.  Update on project and review of public information meeting to be held on September 18, 2012.  The staff will update the Board on revisions that have been made to the concept plans for Vehicular and Pedestrian improvements on Croton Point Ave. Changes were made in conjunction with the NYSDOT review of the project.  Changes include a widening of a short section of Veteran’s Plaza at Croton Point Ave. to 4 lanes and inclusion of 5’ bicycle lanes both east and westbound.  The consultants for the project, CHA, will present the project as currently envisioned on Sept. 18 at 8 pm – a regular Village Board meeting.  The Village received a $1.5 million federal grant for this project which is estimated to cost $2.5 million.
  2. Discussion on proposed purchase of new street sweeper. The Village’s street sweeper truck was severely damaged in an accident early this summer.  The Board will consider whether to proceed with a replacement sweeper which is estimated to cost $181,765.  The Village will receive about $75,000 in insurance money for the damaged sweeper.
  3. Discussion of Two Proposed Fall Festivals.  The Recreation and Parks Dept. is discussing two proposed Fall Festivals to occur in Vassallo Park this autumn. They are working with the Croton Business Council to plan for these events.
